Notes/Updates:

7/10/19- FirstData Machines, Clovers, and Dejavoos will update automatically over IP and will not require a download.

7/10/19- Verifone terminals that were updated due to the latest boot-loop issue will not be affected. If a terminal requires an update, the machine will need to install a partial download.

7/9/19- Pax terminals have not released the updated application as of 7/9/2019.

Immediate Attention Required - Digicert certificate update

First Data is updating their security certificates and requires that all terminals that are processing over Internet Protocol be updated to support their new certificate to continue to process via IP.

As with past initiatives, First Data will perform "Short Burst Outages" for Digicert beginning in August of this year at the timetables listed below.  This means that merchants who are processing via IP and are not compliant with the Digicert certificates will be unable to process during these 30-minute bursts.  Merchants with dial backup will rollover to dial processing during this time.
We strongly encourage you to take this opportunity to identify your impacted merchants and work to get their software or hardware updated to support the new Digicert certificates.

PAX Terminals
1) If PPS built your PAX terminal file, we will update them to support Digicert and setup for automatic download. There is nothing further for you to do in this scenario.

2) If you build your own PAX terminal files, you must update to the following version of software in Broadpos or higher:   V1.04.01E
Release Date:9/21/2018

Verifone Vx520
Verifone terminals boarded after 06/06/19 are compliant with Digicert.  Any merchant who has previously received the Commserver 2.5 patch for the Verifone Boot Loop issue as previously communicated will be compliant for Digicert.    Instructions for the update are also attached in following link: http://go.epaymentcloud.com/e/95242/support-verifone-/3j9qcx/357503979?h=EmssLDCSwvs0mgHV46yDz6D2pO5-UfLaGwhKFQjTePg

*Please note that for IP merchants, a new file build is not necessary at this time.

Dejavoo Terminals
For agents that build their own Dejavoo terminal files, please work with your Merchants to update their file to support the Digicert certificates. If you have any questions please contact Dejavoo directly.

FD Terminals
Terminal files created on the Unity Application should be Digicert compliant.  These terminals auto update every 30 days to insure file compliance.  However, we are recommending further review of FD terminals on your Impact List to verify that the most recent version of the Unity FD 130 Application FDRUN130 version 02.02.01 is enabled and that auto update has occurred for Digicert.

VAR Solutions
Merchants using 3rd party POS devices will need to reach out to the vendor to confirm their product’s readiness to support the DigiCert Root Certificate Authority and whether any action is needed for their POS device.

If you would like a list of your impacted merchants, please contact our
Relationship Management Team.

Thank you for your continued partnership.
